7 Dairy Free Desserts

When I first went vegan I thought I would have to give up eating desserts forever. I didn’t think something like dairy free desserts existed.

Honestly we would all be healthier if we never ate any kind of dessert again. But you have to find a fine line between healthy and happy right? Even though I’m the kinds of person that gets excited about eating really healthy vegan food, I also like to indulge every now and then. That’s why it’s good to have some easy vegan dessert recipes that you love.

You don’t have to be vegan to want to give up milk and dairy. Did you know that 60% of the population has some level of intolerance to dairy? Consider these shocking facts from the Genetic Home Reference for Genetic Conditions:

Approximately 65 percent of the human population has a reduced ability to digest lactose after infancy. Lactose intolerance in adulthood is most prevalent in people of East Asian descent, affecting more than 90 percent of adults in some of these communities.

Is it any wonder that searches about lactose intolerance happen about 500,000 times a month? And inquiries for dairy free desserts occur over 4,000 times a day! When you stop and think about it, almost every dessert recipe on the planet requires milk and butter. No matter how hard you try it’s very difficult to separate the connection between dairy and dessert in today’s society. It doesn’t have to be that way though!
