Honestly the smell of some of them is so bad when they are cooking it could ruin your appetite for months! But once you get past the preparation you are rewarded with bold taste and amazing flavors. We were actually fortunate enough to get to sample some of this last smelly food a couple of years ago and it was bad. It was the worst! But it was tasty if you could get last the smell. Even most Japanese can’t stand Natto. It tastes as bad as it looks and smells. I love it, but I can’t even have it in the same house with my family.
