While these vegan carrot dogs are easy to make they are time consuming. You will have to precook them and then let them sit in a marinade for 24 hours. But it’s that long process that lets the flavors sink in and make them taste so amazing. And it’s carrots!
Who knew you could get your hotdog fix by eating carrots? You must try them. And a little tip for you: On the stove they will be good but if you grill them after they sit in the marinade they will be unbelievable.
Vegan Hotdogs: Carrot Dogs
makes 4 Carrot dogs
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
2 Tbsp Bragg’s liquid aminos (or use vegan soy sauce)
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 dashes liquid smoke
Fill a pot half full with water and bring it to a boil
Place your carrots into boiling water and reduce to medium heat.
Let simmer on medium heat for about 10 minutes. A fork should
penetrate easily but they shouldn’t be mushy.
Put vinegar, water, Bragg’s liquid aminos, garlic powder, and liquid smoke
in a container with a lid (like Tupperware) or in Gallon Zip Loc Bag
Let carrots cool. Put them in marinade for 24 hours making sure they are covered
24 hours later you can heat them in a non stick pan, turning a couple of time. Or
for the best taste possible, cook on the grill!
