I’ll admit that no matter what time of year it is, I enjoy a cup of hot chocolate before bed. This Vegan Coconut Kahlua Hot Chocolate is on of my favorite vegan recipes. It uses coconut milk instead of dairy milk and it’s tasty, foamy, creamy, and delicious.
I know most people reserve drinks like hot chocolate for the winter months but I find them soothing. Remember the old adage about having a glass of milk before bed? Well obviously as a vegan I am not doing that. But I do enjoy a nice cup of comforting vegan hot chocolate before bed. It centers me I think. And the little alcohol bump from the Kahlua doesn’t hurt either.
This is such a treat. Look at the wonderful texture of coconut whipped cream. It’s smooth, thick, and velvety. This low in fat cream makes a great topping for this drink. The coconut milk and cocoa powder is well mixed. The whipped cream on top looks so dreamy and beautiful. With a sprinkle of cinnamon, it became even more superb. The effect is very striking. Then a spike of Kahlua adds a very invigorating mocha flavor. So, stay warm with a hot chocolate. And by that, I mean this tasty vegan hot chocolate.
Don’t wait until a certain time of year to indulge in some delicious vegan hot chocolate. That is a treat you can enjoy any time of year in any kind of weather. It’s great for breakfast (maybe not with the Kah;ua so much), and I love it before bed too.
