This recipe is a new approach to lemon bars. It’s better for the health and it emphasizes the kinds of treats that can significantly restore balance to the body’s pH. Lemon is also a wonderful stimulant to the liver and aids in detoxification.
The crust is so creative and satisfying! It’s made from pitted dates and walnuts in a way that I had never really seen before. The result is perfection. Then the filling made from unsweetened coconut flakes, maple syrup, and fresh lemon juice look so natural and still so appealing.
And its yellowish color is something you would expect to find in a lemon dessert for sure. But there is a healthy twist to that to because it gets a lot of that color from turmeric. Any time you can work turmeric in to your recipes you are adding to the healthy component.
