Vegan Sloppy Joes Recipe

I will tell you a secret, it’s not just kids that love sloppy joes. I started a quest to find a vegan sloppy joe recipe as soon as I went vegan. I love that kind of sandwich. Probably too much.

Last week my sister and her family came over for the day and I was planning dinner. I told her I was going to make the kids vegan sloppy joes and an amazing salad for the rest of us. When I asked the kids if they wanted sloppy joes they were very happy as you can imagine.

My sisters husband was not too happy about eating salad with the adults. I’m not sure he really understood that he would be passing up one of my 3 Epic Salads you can check out here. After a quick poll of everyone in the house it was decided we all wanted sloppy joes,

I should tell you that everyone got salad as well. There is no reason you can’t have a salad with your sloppy joe.

I have found that this is one of those meals everything thinks you have to give up when you go vegan. But the truth is that I make a vegan sloppy joe that rivals anything you will see on a meat eaters table. The meat thing really is psychological.

Once you have been vegan long enough you realize that you aren’t missing anything by not eating meat. The only thing you have to kick is the powerful brainwashing by the meat industry and the government.

Let’s make some sloppy joes! You can get this easy vegan sloppy joe recipe by clicking next page below.

  1. This was missing that genuine sloppy joe flavor that I remember as a child. I added 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp dry mustard, 1 tsp garlic powder, and 1 tsp worschershire sauce. It also didn’t get quite as thick as I had hoped so I added 1 tbsp cornstarch and that helped. I served it on a toasted bun with thick cut dill relish and mustard, it was pretty good!
